Annoyingly, the E argument contains "geom" rather than other, however e.geom behaves the exact same. OnLaserHit - Triggered when a laser hits an object. E argument contains "laser", which allows modification of the laser. OnHitByLaser - Triggered when an object is hit by a laser. E argument contains "other", which allows modification of the event object. OnCollide - Triggered when an object collides with this object. This page will go over most/all of the events in an object. create variables, test functions/code, etc). This is because it allows you to modify an object (ex. We will refer to this mini console as the modifier. It is a little bit more limited than the big console, however. This means this object contains multiple variables/functions inside of it.Īt the top of the Script Menu in Objects is a miniature version of the Console. For example, if you use /app.wa, it will show up with settings relating to Water.Įvery object in Algodoo is known as a class object. One neat, partially documented feature of the Console is the ability to search up built-in functions. You can also modify advanced Algodoo settings. When you run a function in the Console, it will return the output of the function. While it's not particularly useful, it's useful for setting settings for a scene, modifying advanced Algodoo options (we'll get to that later), and testing functions. To open the Console, use the ` (tilde) key. The most simple way to use it is the console. Rarely, when you draw a Polygon into another, it disappears and crashes Algodoo.Chapter 1 - Introduction PAGE 1 - Console. This has to be done for each time you load the save containing the list. Arguments to functions inside of a Thyme List will not work properly unless you manually open the list. There is a glitch relating to Thyme Lists (lists that contain Thyme Functions). This bug happens almost every single time the function is called, making the function practically useless, and making a workaround highly advised. Almost always, when using Scene.AddWater(), water will go incompressible, causing all water to explode. This bug has only been reported once and screenshots sadly were forgotten. On very rare occasions, opening the console will not result in text, but a garbled image of a color slider and some swatches in the bottom right corner of the console. It appears as though chain hinges are special in the sense that they rotate less easily and they randomly explode. This happens when you try to attach spring while the grid is on and not attached the object properly, it will only show the attach circle and nothing else, you must press esc before release a mouse to stop it from crashing. Sometimes while applying a spring, it will sort of glitch out, and when you release the mouse button, Algodoo crashes.Algodoo has a high chance of freezing for a long time when you open the Algobox. This is especially annoying for Algobox surfing where consistently reload scenes. Sometimes, if you reload a scene after putting a phunlet in it, it will reload the phunlet instead of the scene.Sadly, you cannot save during a WSOD, and you have to close or restart Algodoo. This makes algodoo completely unresponsive, and just a white screen. If there are too many objects on screen, there is a small chance that Algodoo will WSOD (White Screen of Death). This is caused by Algodoo running out of memory and can be fixed by restarting your game. Sometimes, when you load a scene, it will just be a blank sky.Occasionally, when saving a scene, all objects will be deleted. If the above glitch is preformed with even higher speeds, joints and objects might start to fly everywhere, even if the object is saved as a Phunlet. The camera may shake while zooming in or out. After following an object traveling at very high speeds, the grid system may glitch.Sometimes the secondary toolbar will be somewhere it's not supposed to be, causing the game to be much harder to use. This can be fixed by changing their size settings, and setting it to 100 again. Occasionally, when going fullscreen or maximizing Algodoo, the toolbars will shrink to 88% size. This page is about bugs and gliches in Algodoo.
